Core Web Vitals won’t save a site with nothing to say

Performance is table stakes, not a differentiator — here’s what actually separates ranking pages from the rest.

Every audit I run turns up the same instinct: fix the score, fix the rankings. Performance work matters, but it’s a floor, not a strategy — a fast page that says nothing still says nothing.

The sites that hold their rankings after an update are the ones where the content was worth serving fast in the first place. Speed just gets out of the way of that.
